After some pool playing and listening to my friends call on the Gods for assistance to make their shots, I started to wonder how the concept of religion moved from a selection of gods - Greek style, to the one almighty.
I have decided (through absolutly no supportive research) that when we praised and honoured many different gods, it was complicated and one could spend many hours in a day making sure one did not piss any off. So if people just started to call on God the All Mighty - the gods as individuals would all think it was them, as they are very egocentric beings. Over time i think a few of them have gotten bored and are possibly trying their hand at recruiting a new following on a distant planet. The ones that remain probably get together and have weekly meetings as to whom shall be looking after which football team and so every one can continue to pray to 'their' God.
I hope they have good pension plans and holidays.
